We have some Public Service Announcements to make!

We have some Public Service Announcements to make!
First of all–pre-registration is NOW OPEN for BOTH attendees AND vendors! We’ve already confirmed 25% of our vendor hall for next year, but at this point vendor registration is open. If you are interested in vending with us next year, contact us with your name, business name, a description of what products you carry, and website information if you have it. Please be as informative and specific as possible to help us get through those emails in a timely manner.

Second, we will be at the DOUBLETREE next year! As much as we loved the ambiance of the Tivoli, the space isn’t big enough for our growth. So we are moving to a beautiful hotel at Orchard band I25, and we got some amazing $79/night room deals! We’re also running a cool contest for those who reserve a room, check out the Location tab for more details!

Next, we are interviewing for long-term volunteer staff members to fill our expanding group and take care of aspects of the convention during the course of the year. This is a great opportunity to get more hands-on experience. Keep in mind this will require several hours of time most every week, is a volunteer position, but requires at least a one year commitment.

And, if you didn’t hear, we’ve already announced a couple of special guests for next year, including Gail Carriger and Mark Stone!

Also, we are once again bringing in our ART CONTEST! Design the AnomalyCon 2013 (Post Apocalypse) tshirt and win both a tshirt with your design on it and TWO badges to AnomalyCon 2013! Email your submissions to us by June 30, 2012 to enter. Winners will be announced by July 31st. Your submission becomes the property of AnomalyCon and Victorian Productions.

Finally, panel suggestions are OPEN! If you are interested in running panels, seeing panels, or want to throw out an idea for a guest we might not have thought of, please give us a shout!

Can’t wait to see you all at StarFest and others throughout the year!

Almost Time! Mystery and Mayhem!

Dear readers and soon-to-be-attendees!

We have both good and bad news to impart.

Alas, our dear highly anticipated Mme. Veronique Chevalier has fallen under unforseen circumstances, and must decline to join us this year. She sends her utmost regrets and hopes to join us next year–if the world doesn’t end, of course.

As for the good news! We are of course investigating a deeper, even more sinister mystery than the Murder Most Foul that plagued AnomalyCon’s denizens last year–be sure to grab your investigation sheet when you join us in the door!

If you’re still in the air about coming, remember that a single day badge is only $15, the whole weekend is only $30, and the lightrail is just a hop, skip, and two heel-clicks away!

Living Forgotten Realms at Anomaly Con

We’re putting together an awesome gaming room this year and we have an exciting addition: Living Forgotten Realms. These tables will be free to play for all attendees but they will be first come, first served as each table slot can only accommodate up to seven players. We don’t have tables confirmed for all of the slots yet but muster will be at 5:45 PM Friday; 8:15 AM, 1:00 PM and 5:45 PM Saturday; and 8:15 AM and 1:00 PM Sunday (games start 15 minutes after muster) when there are tables running. As things are coming together last minute you should be able to find information on which slots will have tables and what those tables are running at registration during the convention.

Final Volunteer Meeting

Anomaly Con’s final volunteer meeting will be 11:30, March 17th at the Castlewood branch of the Arapahoe Library District at 6739 South Uinta Street, Centennial, CO 80112. We will be in the Paul Manion meeting room. Follow the hall that goes to the left just before the second set of entry doors; our room will be at the end of that hallway. This meeting is mandatory if you have not attended any other volunteer meetings. If you have not signed up to be a volunteer and would like to, please show up at this final meeting or email us ASAP to make sure we get your name on the list. Volunteers only need to devote 15 hours to the con, including setup and take down, to get a free badge. We’d love to work with you to make sure that you can see the panels that you would like to see while also counting that time towards the 15 hour requirement.

One Final Guest…and More News!

We have one final special guest announcement before AnomalyCon!

Peter J Wacks, author of Second Paradigm and Howl, among other brilliance. He is releasing a super secret project at AnomalyCon! Find out more at www.fairypunkstories.com!

Also, thanks everyone who managed to pre-register! Prereg is CLOSED, but Tickets at the door will be $30 for the weekend or $15 for a single day. We hope to see lots of you there! We’re running more programming than ever, have a bigger vendor room, and we have 65% more pre-registrations than last year, so it’s going to be an amazing weekend!

I’m also told there will be a room party Saturday night at our partner hotel–just remember to be respectful and if anything gets broken, you’ve never heard of AnomalyCon.

Final event scheduling/programs should be available the week before the convention so that everyone can start planning their weekend.

See you all at AnomalyCon 2012!

Anomaly Con Art Exhibition

Anomaly Con is announcing our first Art Show! The show is open to all registered attendees who contact us and let us know who you are and what sort of art you will be bringing. All entrants to the art show will be provided one panel or 1/2 of a folding table to display their art. No art can be sold outside of the dealer’s room at the convention but we encourage you to place business cards with your art so that interested buyers can contact you after the convention. Art setup before the convention and take down after the convention must be completed by the artist.

Anomaly Con is also looking for volunteers who would like to help in the art room with setup and take down and to meet some of the great artists who will be coming this year. Please contact our volunteer coordinator and let her know.
