FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!

This is a bit last-minute, but I have gotten quite a few of these questions.

Q: Are children allowed at the con?
A: Yes, they are allowed, and children under 8 are free. However, there is no child-specific content (although most videos will be G or PG), and any child under the age of 13 must be with an adult at all times.

Q: Will there be teenager-friendly content?
A: This depends on the teenager, of course! Most of our content is rated PG-13 at the most. However, any teenager who has a lot of trouble sitting still for an hour might be bored with much of the panel content.

Q: Are single day tickets sold?
A: Unfortunately, no. Because we are offering weekend tickets for less than most major conventions charge for a single day, we cannot offer single-day passes at this time. We will take this into consideration for next year, however.

Q: Are tickets to just the ball sold?
A: Again, no. The ball (but not the tea) is included with the weekend pass. Tea tickets are sold out.

Q: Can I take pictures?
A: Yes, of course! Please make sure you ask the permission of our special guests before taking pictures of them, and respect the wishes of anyone who asks you not to take their picture.

Q: Can I bring/wear weapons?
A: Realistic modern weapons, replicas and swords are not allowed. Modified nerf guns and weapons that are clearly not a rebuilt real firing weapon are allowed. ALL weapons must be peace-bonded by Operations. Brandishing is not allowed. These are the rules of the Tivoli.

Q: Can I pay with a check for my badge?
A: No. AnomalyCon does not accept checks. It is at the individual vendor’s discretion to accept checks, but there is a fee-free ATM in the Tivoli. That means they don’t charge you to use it (although your bank might still charge a fee).

Q: I have a really cool idea for AnomalyCon 2012! Where can I send it?
A: Please use our contact us form above.

Myles Pinkney

We must regretfully announce that Myles Pinkney has taken ill and will be unable to attend AnomalyCon 2011. We hope to see him back with us next year, and urge you all to send your well wishes via his contact link on his website, mylespinkney.com. His family will still be exhibiting his art for sale in the Artist’s Alley, and all proceeds go to the Myles Pinkney medical fund.

A Murder! A Mystery!

Inspector Lestrade is investigating a mysterious murder. Col. Isaiah Newfound, Esq. was murdered in his own abode yesterday evening. Upon searching his home, Scotland Yard found that a particular artifact he was rumored to possess was missing from his collection of curios. Scotland Yard has yet to make an arrest, and they are offering a reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the apprehension of the criminal. The first correct tip provided leading to an arrest will be rewarded with two full passes to AnomalyCon 2012, and a cameo appearance in The Spectacular Tales of the Extraordinary Airship Mórríghan (S.T.E.A.M.). You must have all of the clues in order to draw a conclusion.

Clues will be revealed at AnomalyCon in the program, during the events of the day at AnomalyCon, and in the episode of S.T.E.A.M. right before the convention!

Dealer’s Tables & Artist’s Alley Sold Out

Anomaly Con is just around the corner and we are all busy preparing for the show. We’ve had quite a bit of interest in Anomaly Con, not least of which was running a vendor table or artist booth. I can report that we have now sold out of both! Thanks for all of the interest in Anomaly Con I. Sometime, after the convention, we will be opening vendor/artist registration for year two, stay tuned for more updates and additional information.

Volunteers Needed!

AnomalyCon is still looking for volunteers! We are particularly looking for folks for security and EMT/CPR trained individuals, but we can use everybody who is willing. Put in 15 hours and attend the con for free! Contact us using the contact form to get in on the list!
