AnomalyCon will be hosting a Mad Science and Fashion Festival!
There will be three major art categories. Each category will be voted for fan favorite and also be examined by a panel of judges. Awards will be bestowed for the best of the best in each category. There is no limit to the number of art pieces any individual may submit, and artists may provide business cards near their artwork to arrange for exchange with other attendees. Artists must be registered attendees in order to submit artwork.
Artwork may be submitted at Anomaly Con beginning Friday March 11 and no later than noon on Saturday. Judging will occur on Sunday.
Adult content is allowed, but judges reserve the right to deny any art they deem too distasteful to display. Remember that we have a varied age range of attendees.
Category 1: Purely Aesthetic
This category covers all traditional art that is nonfunctional–including paintings, photographs, modifications that are nonfunctional (such as guns, goggles, etc that do not physically do something). Themed items are of course encouraged, but any art is accepted.
Category 2: Functional and Invention
This category requires that the object performs some sort of function. This could be a modified gun that actually still works, a unique brewing device, chemical and science projects, etc. Anything functional fits into this category, but style is certainly a factor. If we have enough science-project and pure invention type entries we will make this a fourth category.
Category 3: Mobile
This category is entirely for vehicular items–space ships, air balloons, scooters, cars, bicycles, tricycles, unicycles anything of the antique or futuristic variety. They key, however, is that these vehicle devices must actually have locomotion–whether self-powered or by pedaling. Model devices are OK as long as they are capable of moving themselves.
Prizes are still to be determined, but the awards and accolades will certainly be worth your hard work and artistic ingenuity!
